Botox® & Xeomin®

Botox and Xeomin are a prescription medications used in facial aesthetics. They contain botulinum toxin type A, a protein purified from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, sometimes referred to as incobotulinumtoxinA.
Botox® and Xeomin® cosmetic treatments can be used to improve the following areas:
Frown lines between the eyebrows
Crow’s feet
Worry lines in your forehead
Smile lines
Bunny lines on the bridge of your nose
Laugh lines from nose to mouth
Botox and Xeomin differ in that Botox contains a protein that helps it attach to the muscle cell more quickly. Xeomin is free of that protein and may help reduce incidents of immunity to the botulinum toxin. Applications of these drugs are customized for every patient, depending on his or her particular needs. While they cannot stop the process of aging, they can temporarily diminish the look of wrinkles caused by muscle groups. Some patients may experience treatment effect in 48 to 72 hours. Most patients do not notice full treatment effect for 7 to 14 days following the treatment. Typically, the result will last three to four months, after which touch-ups will be required to keep the area smooth.
Generally, anyone in good health who has fairly shallow fine lines and wrinkles may be a good candidate for Botox or Xeomin® treatments.
