Infrared Sauna

Revive invites you to experience the relaxing warmth of our infrared sauna.

What are the benefits?

All saunas cause body temperature to rise. The rise in temperature increases the heart rate and causes sweating – an experience similar to that felt with moderate exercise. Heat penetrates the muscles and aids in relaxation and eases stiffness and soreness that may be caused from overuse after a hard workout or physical labor.

Why Infrared?

Infrared saunas work differently than a traditional saunas. A traditional sauna uses a heat source to warm the surrounding air, which in turn, warms your body. This means the room temperature must be very high to transfer heat to the body and raise your core temperature. An infrared sauna uses light waves to create heat. The light acts directly on the body, allowing the body to warm more quickly and at lower room temperatures.

Is It Safe?

Infrared heat is produced naturally by the sun and by your own body. Infrared cameras are used in search and rescue missions when looking for people buried under rubble or trapped in buildings, for example. The cameras pick up infrared heat given off by all living things. It is not only safe, but some studies have found it to be beneficial in the treatment of arthritis, high blood pressure, and other medical problems. Although larger, more rigorous studies need to be done to confirm these supposed benefits, no adverse affects have been identified with the use of infrared light.

How often should it be used?

An infrared sauna can be used daily.
